The Painter's Farm honey is pure, raw, honey. That means it has not been heated or adulterated in any way. It has no preservatives or added ingredients. We do not supplement or use any medication in our hives. At harvest time, the honey is extracted directly from the comb, filtered to remove large particles, then placed in jars. The natural enzymes and nutrients found in the honey offer many health benefits. Natural honey will not spoil and does not need refrigeration.
Over time, pure, raw honey will crystallize. Crystallization is normal, the honey has not gone bad. If your honey has crystallized and you prefer it as a liquid, gently heat the jar in a pan of simmering water. This will melt the crystals and return it to its liquid state. Do not boil it, that may destroy the natural enzymes in the honey.
Do not feed honey to infants under 1 year of age. One should not feed honey to infants under 1 year of age due to the natural botulism spores that can be found in honey. Past 1 year of age, the human body develops stomach acids that are able to metabolize the spores.
The 2014 honey is sold out. Please check back with us in late spring 2015 for spring honey products. Thank you!
